My Supports

Factors that are important in my daily environment are my religion, my family, my friends, my occupation, and my transportation. My belief in God is a very important factor in my daily environment. I believe that he leads, guides, and protects me daily; I pray when I wake up in the morning, throughout the day, and at night before going to bed. My family is an important factor in my life, because without the support from my mom and brother daily, I would be lost mentally. My family and friends supports me when I am going through tough times especially when my father passed away, my cousins and friends all pitched in to do everything that needed to be done to prepare for our guests. My job is an important factor in my life, even though I am not making a lot of money, it is still helping me to pay most of my bills. My transportation is very important because without it I can not go to work, because I live in a small town and we do not have public transportation; without these supports I would not be able to make it physically or mentally. The impact that it would have on my life if they were gone is I would not be able to provide for myself without my job. My family and friends gives me emotional support.

The challenge that I chose to imagine is that what if I did not have my parents when I was growing up, I don't know where I would be without God and my family, especially my mom. My mom has really instilled a lot of things in me that I am cherishing; I respect my mom and I don't want to hurt her so therefore I still live by most of her rules. My job is in jeapordy because of a new strategic plan for the county and without my job, I will not be able to pay my bills in which I recently got another car; I truly believe with the support from God, family, friends, transportation and occupation I will not be in school trying to further my education. I am glad that God has given me the knowledge to complete my bacherlors degree and working on my Master's. I believe without my family I truly would not be in school.

When I think of Child Development

"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." John F. Kennedy1917-1963

We must prepare children for the future; it is important that we are positive role models for our children. I believe that all children have the right to equal opportunity in life to learn to their fullest potenitals. We have the power to protect and shape and mold the world around our children.
